I disagree with keeping it in neutral at a light. I understand with a drive thru, but if you’re at a light and you need to take off for some reason, in my own experience you wanna be in 1st gear just in case. Otherwise you risk getting hit if you need to move but you have to shift into gear first. If you’re in 1st gear, you can take right off. If you know how to drive one that is

Manual transmission is easier to repair and cheaper to repair as well. That and when your breaks fail you aren't completly fucked - you have handbreak which gonna work and you can engine break.
